All car fans must attend the new show in Montreal
For almost three years, the Montreal Palace of Congresses Auto Show has been closed because of the pandemic. But very soon, the public will be presented with novelties and amazing exhibits.
The first car show after a long silence will be held at the Montreal International Salon from January 20 to 29. The automotive industry is still in crisis, as deliveries of some parts and microchips are delayed. Nevertheless, the exhibits at the show should surprise even sophisticated car enthusiasts.
Previously, the exhibition cars were located on three floors. This year the exhibits will occupy only the first floor. The collection is planned to feature 18 car brands: from luxury and classic cars to unusual examples.
One of the presented collections includes 20 luxury cars owned by Luc Poirier, a famous collector. The total value of the exhibition cars is estimated at $40 million CAD. Among them will be such brands as Ferrari F40, Ferrari F50, Ferrari Enzo, and LaFerrari Aperta. All visitors will be able to see the legendary Michael Schumacher's F1 car from 2004.
The organizers also say that the exhibition will feature powerful muscle cars from Shelby, a selection of cars from Automobiles Etcetera (the rarest in the world) and one of the world's 20 existing Bugatti Chiron. The cost of the latter is estimated at $4.5 million CAD.
There will also be debutants at the show — electric cars, regular cars and trucks such as:
- Nissan Ariya SurfWagon;
- Cadillac Lyriq,
- Buick Wildcat EV;
- Hyundai Ioniq 6;
- GMC Hummer EV.
The exhibition's highlight will be an electric car from the Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast. Even Tesla representatives promised to present their new products at the auto show, although they usually do not participate in them.
According to the organizer of the exhibition, previously electric cars were always presented in a separate showroom. But such models are becoming so popular that almost all exhibits have electric models.
In addition, some manufacturers will demonstrate other alternative energy technologies, such as hydrogen-powered cars. In conjunction with CAA Québec, popular electric vehicle test drives will be held, where visitors will be able to test drive about 10 different vehicles, even the likes of the Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV, Kia.
