Changes to New Brunswick's immigration program
Temporarily suspended for some streams and professions.
Two immigration streams and applications from three professions have been paused. Effective May 20, 2022, the Province of New Brunswick has temporarily suspended the acceptance of applications in all immigration streams for the following occupations:
- supervisors in food service;
- counter workers, kitchen assistants, and related ancillary occupations;
- waiters.
Workers who are already employed in these professions are advised to contact the Department of Immigration directly.
Also, the New Brunswick Express Entry stream has been temporarily suspended since May 20, 2022. No letters of interest (LOI) or invitations to apply (ITA) will be sent out yet, but applicants can get an invitation to apply through INB.
The launch of a pilot stream of private college graduates has been delayed. To participate, you must master one of the priority programs at a New Brunswick institution, be employed in your major within 90 days of graduation, and provide a certificate of language proficiency of at least 5 on the CLB scale for all assessments.
