Payments to Ukrainians in Canada

The federal government has explained how to obtain benefits and who is entitled to them.

Immigration Minister Sean Fraser explained how the federal government will help Ukrainians who come to Canada on Canada-Ukraine Emergency Entry Permit (CUAET). Ukrainian citizens and accompanying close relatives are eligible to apply for a single payment under the Canada-Ukraine Transitional Assistance Initiative (CUTAI).

To get your allowance, you need to open a separate account at a Canadian bank. The name of the account must match the name of the recipient's adult status document (work permit, study permit, temporary residence permit).

Parents and guardians can file one application for themselves, their spouse and dependents. Online applications will be open starting June 2, 2022. Each adult will receive $3,000 CAD and each child will receive $1,500 CAD.
