Youth Invitations to Canada

Youth Invitations to Canada

In 2022, South Korea, Australia, and Japan were the most frequently selected candidates.

More than 60,000 people received invitations in 2022 through the International Experience Canada program. This is a federal program for foreigners aged 18 to 30 or 35, and one of its streams, Working Holiday, offers an open work permit for a year or two. To participate in the Young Professionals and International Co-op Internship streams, you must have a job offer, and for the latter option, the job must be a student internship.

Unfortunately, this program is only for citizens of certain countries. If you are not a citizen of the country listed below, there is another way to get into Canada for students — the international organization IAESTE, which organizes exchanges and internships for students from more than 80 countries.

Countries whose citizens can come to Canada through the International Experience Canada program:

  • Australia;
  • Austria;
  • Andorra;
  • Belgium;
  • UK;
  • Germany;
  • Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
  • Greece;
  • Denmark;
  • Ireland;
  • Spain;
  • Italy;
  • Costa Rica;
  • Latvia;
  • Lithuania;
  • Luxembourg;
  • Mexico;
  • Netherlands;
  • New Zealand;
  • Norway;
  • Poland;
  • Portugal;
  • San Marino;
  • Slovakia;
  • Slovenia;
  • Taiwan;
  • Ukraine;
  • France;
  • Croatia;
  • Czech Republic;
  • Chile;
  • Switzerland;
  • Sweden;
  • Estonia;
  • South Korea;
  • Japan.

Unlimited quotas for all three streams of the program Canada provides only Australia. More than a thousand people Canada is ready to accept from Ireland, France, Japan, Great Britain, Germany, South Korea, New Zealand, Portugal, and Italy.

Applications are now open. The system also tells you when you select a country and stream on the official program page what your chances are of getting invited to the next round. There are quite a few countries whose quotas have not yet been exhausted.
