How much do suburban homes cost in each province of Canada?
Prices continue to rise, but there are still inexpensive properties in some provinces.
Real estate prices keep going up in Canada, and not just in major cities. Dale Carmody, a real estate agent in Ontario, has witnessed how a house for sale for $499,000 CAD was sold after a couple of days for $799,000. There were 25 buyers "vying" for the house.
So if you are planning to get a property in Canada in the near future, be prepared for this kind of competition. It is expected that in 2021 the average price of suburban homes across the country will increase by 15% to just over $500,000 CAD. However, there are provinces where cheaper homes can still be bought.
In the regions of Canada, average prices by the end of the year are projected to be as follows:
- Alberta: $943,000 CAD;
- British Columbia: $782,000 CAD;
- Ontario: $547,000 CAD;
- Quebec: $290,000 CAD;
- Manitoba and Saskatchewan: $261,000 CAD;
- Atlantic provinces (Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick): $227,000 CAD.
