Alberta has a new immigration screening

For 2021, the province has already issued 2,613 invitations.

On July 14, Alberta's immigration program issued 181 invitations to apply for nominations from the province. The drawing was held among applicants who participated in the immigration stream with selection through Express Entry.

The minimum score on the complex ranking system was 301. This is 1 point lower than the previous selection, which took place on June 29.

In order to be invited into the drawing, applicants needed to have a profile in the Express Entry system, which the Canadian federal government uses to process applications for permanent residence under the three federal immigration programs:

Candidates who receive a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points. This virtually guarantees an invitation to the subsequent Express Entry draw.
