Canada's premier amusement park welcomes visitors again

Canada

After a year of inactivity, Canada's Wonderland Park in Ontario is once again welcoming visitors.

The park opened its doors to season-ticket holders as early as July 5. And today, on the day of the grand opening, all those who had time to book their visit to the land of amusement in advance could come there. Adjacent to the attraction Splash Works water park will start operating on July 12.

The park was scheduled to reopen in early July months ago, as part of the second phase of Ontario's release from quarantine.

Security measures

According to park management, safety has been and remains the number one priority at Canada's Wonderland: the health of visitors and staff is well taken care of. In 2021, new rules for visiting the park came into effect as quarantine measures were relaxed:

1. If you want to relax and have fun at an amusement park or water park, first of all book your visit on Canada's Wonderland. Each visitor must provide the exact date, time of arrival and departure.

2. be prepared for a health check: you will have your temperature taken before entering the park. This rule applies not only to visitors to the park, but also to its employees and vendors who sell goods in the complex.

3. Visitors two years of age and older must wear a face mask in all areas (unless otherwise specified) and also during lunch sitting.

4. queues for rides will be marked with markers of the permitted distance, and this distance must not be breached.

5. All areas of the park, including parking lots, toilets, cafes, etc. will be subjected to intensive cleaning and disinfection.

6. Additional hand sanitation stations are posted throughout the park.

New attractions

Canada's Wonderland is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. To celebrate the milestone, and to the delight of visitors, there are two new attractions: the Mountain Bay Cliffs (a cliff jump over 7.5 metres high) and a new children's attraction called Beagle Brigade Airfield.

More good news: a season pass to the park in 2021 is now only $79.99 USD and is valid through Labor Day 2022.

For your information

Canada's Wonderland Theme Park is located on 134 hectares in suburban Ontario, approximately 25 kilometres north of downtown Toronto. The park was opened in 1981 by Taft and Great-West Life Assurance Company as Canada's first major theme park, and it remains so today. Canada's Wonderland has also been the most visited seasonal theme park in North America for several years running.

Every year there are massive events such as: "Canada Festival", monthly Canada Day, culinary festivals, etc.

For the first time in 2019, the park has extended its operation through the end of December as part of a new WinterFest program.
