The deadlines for applying for permanent residence under Express Entry have changed

Reducing the time frame will speed up the processing of applications.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada is bringing back the old deadline for applying to the Express Entry system for permanent residency. Applicants will have 60 days to do so.

At the beginning of the pandemic, the application period was extended from 60 to 90 days to allow additional time to prepare documents during covid restrictions.

As Canada continues to accept more migrants and bans ease, the decision was made to return to the previous deadline. Returning to the 60-day deadline would help the Ministry process more applications.

Applicants who have been invited to apply for CoML through Express Entry before June 29, 2021 still have the right to do so within 90 days.
