Canada will improve conditions for refugees

The country aimed not only to accept more people in need of asylum, but also to provide them with first-class support.

In 2021, Canada aims to welcome up to 45,000 new refugees. The country recently announced tthree initiatives that will help move people in need of protection.

However, Canada aims not only to accept refugees, but also to improve their quality of life. On June 28, the Department of Immigration launched a competition to solicit ideas for improving refugee assistance, as well as streamlining case management for asylum applicants.

The settlements that will host the newcomers will be able to count on material assistance from the federal government. Also, the organizations that proposed the best changes will be chosen as part of the competition, and their projects will be financed.

The competition is designed to improve the support available to refugees and ensure they can live safely in Canada. Entries will be accepted until 20 August 2021. After that, the country can be expected to gradually introduce new projects.
