Alberta invites more candidates, lowering the passing score

The last time the province invited candidates with such a score was in May 2020.

The province released the results of the selection process, which took place on May 5. On that day, the Alberta Immigration Program sent 250 invitations to eligible candidates for those who have an active Express Entry profile and received an invitation to apply (Alberta Express Entry Stream).

In this selection, the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score had to be at least 300, one point lower than the previous selection that took place on April 20.

Candidates were required to have a profile in the system Express Entry in order to be invited in the selection process.

Express Entry is the system that the federal government of Canada uses to process permanent residence applications for the three federal immigration programs:

Candidates in Express Entry have the opportunity to be invited to apply for provincial nomination. They need to have experience in a relevant profession that supports the province's economic development and diversification priorities.
