New Brunswick is temporarily accepting applications from handymen
As part of a measure to combat coronavirus, the province has gone out of its way to accommodate temporary residents.
Workers who meet the flow criteria for skilled professionals and wish to become permanent residents of Canada can now apply for provincial nomination.
Skilled worker referrals in New Brunswick are now open to individuals with post-graduation work authorization who are working in positions classified as NOC with a Level D qualification. These jobs do not require special skills, and workers typically receive on-the-job training. The most popular occupations at this skill level are fruit pickers, cleaners, and oil field workers.
Temporary workers in such positions will have until April 30, 2021 to apply for the immigration program.
New Brunswick Immigration Program accepts applications from temporary residents who meet the following criteria:
- meeting all flow criteria for qualified professionals;
- graduation from a New Brunswick institution of higher learning;
- A work permit issued upon graduation from an educational institution in New Brunswick.
