The most in-demand remote professions in Canada for 2021

The pandemic has had a major impact on the job market – more and more people are moving to telecommuting.

The remote working market in Canada is now at an all-time high. According to Statistics Canada, 40% of professionals work from home, and 25% say they would like to continue working in this format after the pandemic.

A major consulting company Randstad has compiled a list of the most in-demand remote jobs for the coming years.

1. Call Center Operator

According to Randstad, employers especially need representatives of this profession now. By the way, after operators switched to remote work in many companies the efficiency of employees increased (the number of calls handled per day increased) and their overall satisfaction with their work. This means that people will be more willing to help clients, thereby improving the quality of service.

2. Administrative Assistant

It turned out that you can coordinate meetings, take notes, create presentations, process orders and write reports at home, and no worse than in the office. But managers and directors need more help after the transition to remote work than before: cancelled meetings, business trips, disruption of plans, and much more... The assistants will have to work hard.

3. Support specialists and IT support

The need for these workers has increased because people are spending more time online during the period of self-isolation. So everyone needs help more than ever, especially when platforms and programs fail. This is especially true for e-commerce, which is now booming.

4. Human Resources Administrator

Companies cannot do without good HR now, because a huge number of problems and issues have to be resolved: hiring employees under pandemic conditions, dismissals, assistance in adapting to new working conditions. All this, of course, can be done online.

5. IT consultant

Companies need an expert more than ever to help them optimize their networking with the latest technology. Much of the work of IT consultants requires the use of software and other tools that can be easily installed on a home computer.

6. Data Analyst

In the conditions of mass "attack" by clients on online stores, the latter need to survive in the face of enormous competition. A specialist who knows how to analyse demand, trends, sales figures, and the effectiveness of sites and social networks will help in this.

7. Digital Marketer

And, of course, there is a high demand for people who know how to work with content (text, video, photos), especially on social networks, because companies who don't run pages there are losing out in the market. You don't have to go to the office to handle videos, write blog posts, or send out newsletters to customers.

8. Accountant

Since documentation in many companies is already in electronic form, there is no need for accountants to sit in an office either. But remote employees are needed, because during a pandemic it is incredibly difficult to deal with financial reports.

9. Social Media Manager

Love sitting on Instagram and good at it? It's time to look for a job in this field! Because social media, as we've already learned, is incredibly important to companies. During a pandemic, especially a lot of customers turn there for support and information. Social media managers have a huge field for work, but they need to act thoughtfully and carefully.

10. Project Manager

Randstad expects the demand for good professionals in this area to increase in 2021 because companies have moved online and it is now a little more difficult to control employees, delegate responsibilities and meet deadlines.
