Representatives of the largest recruitment company Randstad told about what professions will be most in demand in 2021.

The crisis in the economy triggered by the coronavirus pandemic has been a serious blow to many service sector sectors in Canada. Nevertheless, this is what has triggered the emergence of brand new positions in the job market that have gained maximum demand in the job market. What's more, the Randstad team noted in its report that these are the occupations that will continue to be in high demand in 2021.

According to Caroline Levy of the staffing firm, this is a positive trend that demonstrates the willingness of many industries to adapt to challenging conditions and survive in the marketplace with all their might.

Remote maintenance

Along with the shift to remote working, companies in the service sector have found that they need more staff dedicated to direct customer service. These include:

Customer service representatives
Delivery drivers
IT specialists
Procurement specialists
Warehouse workers

With the number of COVID-19 cases continuing to rise steadily, more and more companies are moving to online sales, which means the aforementioned employees will continue to be in high demand from employers.

Assistants and assistants

According to Ms. Levy, last year company owners had to return to such positions as administrative assistants. Without administrators, who are able to manage internal logistics, organization of meetings and tracking of schedules, it is now simply impossible to do without them.

System administrators' assistants will also be in high demand, as their servers have experienced a significant increase in workload, as well as computer security requirements.

Retail trade

While the retail segment's workload used to be fairly moderate, 2020 has shown that without more employees, stores simply can't handle the increased workload. Thus, demand has increased for occupations such as:

Sales force
Procurement and supply chain specialists
Cleaners
Attendants
Warehouse workers

Health

The demand for qualified health care personnel, at various levels, increases every day in proportion to the number of people becoming ill with coronavirus. New staff are constantly needed, not only in hospitals, but also in nursing homes and vaccination clinics.
