Atlantic Immigration Program for skilled workers

Foreign professionals are among candidates who can immigrate through the Atlantic Program.

Skilled foreign workers who have a job offer in one of the Atlantic provinces can immigrate through the Atlantic Immigration Program.

Eligibility

To apply for the program, foreign specialists must meet a number of requirements:

  • 1 year of work experience within the last 5 years in a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, or 4 occupation;
  • job offer NOC TEER must correspond to the work experience level or be higher:
    • the job offer must be for a minimum of 1 year for NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, and 3 occupations;
    • there are no restrictions for NOC TEER 4 occupations;
  • education appropriate to the job offer:
    • a completed 1-year academic program for NOC TEER 0 and 1 occupations;
    • high school education for NOC TEER 2, 3, and 4 occupations;
  • English or French ability according to the Canadian Level Benchmark (CLB):
    • CLB level 5 for NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, and 3;
    • CLB level 4 for NOC TEER 4;
  • enough money to move and live in Canada (see below).

Settlement funds

The candidate must have a certain amount of money to support themselves and their family members when they arrive in Canada.
