Immigration to Manitoba for Master's and PhD graduates
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program's International Education – Graduate Internship category offers permanent residency to master's and doctoral graduates who have completed an internship.
The International Education — Graduate Internship stream is designed for those who have obtained a master's or PhD degree from a Manitoba university and completed an internship with Mitacs. A job offer is not required for this program.
Eligibility requirements
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- have obtained a master's or PhD degree from a Manitoba university within the last 3 years;
- demonstrate English or French language proficiency at CLB level 7 (upper intermediate) or higher;
- have completed an internship with Mitacs through either the Accelerate or Elevate programs;
- be living in Manitoba at the time of application;
- show sufficient funds to support yourself and your family members: at least CA$10,000 for the principal applicant and CA$2,000 for each family member; this requirement is waived if the candidate is employed in Manitoba at the time of application.
How to apply
If you're interested in immigrating to Manitoba through the Graduate Internship stream, you can register in the provincial Expression of Interest system. Successful candidates receive invitations in the draws. Unlike other Manitoba programs, there is no minimum score requirement for graduate applicants.
