Immigration to Manitoba through the Skilled Worker Stream
People who have received a job offer in the province of Manitoba, including graduates of Canadian universities, can obtain permanent residency through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream.
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba category of the province's provincial nominee program allows skilled professionals working in the province to obtain permanent residence.
Requirements
To be eligible to immigrate through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream, you must meet the following requirements:
- have a job offer from a Manitoba employer;
- have worked for at least 6 months for the same Manitoba employer (for graduates of Canadian institutions outside Manitoba — at least one year);
- demonstrate the level of English or French proficiency required to perform your job duties (for TEER 4 and 5 occupations, a test score of at least CLB 4 is required, while those already working in Manitoba in TEER 0–3 occupations may be exempt from testing);
- confirm settlement funds: $10,000 CAD for the principal applicant and $2,000 CAD for each family member (for those already working in the province, current income is taken into account);
- provide a Settlement Plan for relocating to Manitoba, demonstrating an intention to permanently live and work in Manitoba.
Self-employed individuals, business owners, and independent contractors cannot apply through this stream. Work performed while studying full-time, including under a co-op work permit, does not count toward work experience.

Submitting an Application
Candidates need to complete an Expression of Interest profile in the MPNP Online system. Invitations are issued to candidates with the highest scores. In certain draws, Manitoba invites workers in specific occupations, French-speaking candidates, and graduates of provincial post-secondary institutions.
