Immigration to Alberta through the Farm Stream

Immigration to Alberta through the Farm Stream

Those who are planning to buy or start a farming business in Alberta can immigrate to Canada through the provincial program.

Canada's need for agriculture-related skills opens pathways for people to immigrate as entrepreneurs in the industry. The Farm Stream of the Alberta's provincial program is designed for investor farmers.

Eligibility

The main requirements for applicants who want to immigrate through the Farm Stream are to be able to invest $500,000 CAD or more in an agricultural business in Alberta and to prove their company management skills. As the proof you can provide the following documents:

  • financial documentation of an existing farm business;
  • documentation of education, training and work experience;
  • a business plan for the farming enterprise in Alberta;
  • confirmation that a Canadian financial institution is willing to finance the business, and so on.

How to apply

To apply for the Farm Stream, you must fill out the forms listed on Alberta's official website and send them to the email listed there.
