Most popular baby names in Canada and Russia 2021
The list turned out to be quite unexpected.
Recently Nameberry, an international online portal with a database of more than 70,000 names visited by users from 200 countries, published an interesting study on which names were the most popular in 2021.
This year, Nameberry's editorial staff chose 25 countries whose residents use the portal most often and compiled a list of the most popular baby names. The list is based on what names users browse through most often.
It turns out that there are some global trends. For example, in English-speaking and European countries, the leading names for girls are Luna and Aurora, and for boys, Arlo and Atticus. In addition, in the same countries more and more parents choose names ending in "o" for their sons: Arlo, Hugo, Leo, Milo, Santiago, and so on.
By the way, the rating is not without surprises. For example, users from Russia are very attracted to the names Lilibeth and Emrys.
