Seneca Polytechnic: Study at one of the best universities in Canada

Seneca Polytechnic: Study at one of the best universities in Canada

Living in Toronto, world-class education, maximum internships, and excellent job prospects at an affordable price.

Entering a Canadian college is a great choice for those who want to build a successful future. Education in Canada is rightly considered one of the best in the world and opens up a wide range of career opportunities. At the same time, a college education is much cheaper than a university one.

College programs are diverse and usually offer 1 to 3 years of training, during which time you can obtain a job-marketable profession.

Immigrant.Today has partnered with many universities across Canada, and we're proud of it. Today we want to tell you about the study opportunities at Seneca Polytechnic.

Seneca Polytechnic

Seneca is a public college founded in 1967. The college's programs are professionally oriented for future graduates, and its faculty is highly qualified and dedicated. Thanks to all these factors, Seneca College students become recognized professionals around the world.

The College is located in Toronto, Canada's major metropolitan area, and offers students programs in 13 fields of study, with the primary goal of providing future graduates with a career that allows them to easily find employment upon graduation. In total, there are about 90,000 students enrolled in this college, including 11,500 international students from more than 150 countries.

Seneca College is widely regarded as one of Canada's best colleges. In 2020, Maclean's magazine ranked it first among Canada's colleges, and the Globe and Mail ranked it fourth. The Canadian University Admission Centre (CUAC) ranked Seneca College second on its list of Canada's best post-secondary institutions, just behind the prestigious University of Toronto.

Polytechnic is an asset of Seneca College

In 2023, Seneca College rebranded: the former name Seneca College became Seneca Polytechnic.

This change is due to the development of the university's new strategy, which focuses primarily on providing students with a polytechnic approach — one that combines the best educational practices applicable in colleges and universities, and also helps students develop their career opportunities already at the stage of their studies. Thus, the addition of Polytechnic to the name emphasizes the college's comprehensive and unique approach to higher education.

Seneca notes that it has not become a polytechnic, but it has always been a polytechnic. Polytechnics are not new to the college, as more than 20 years ago Seneca College was an active participant in the creation of the Polytechnics Canada Association, which now includes 13 institutions, with Seneca among them. Polytechnics offer advanced technical education that is based on hands-on learning and responsiveness to the new needs of the labor market and industry.

All of Seneca Polytechnic's training programs involve the development of practical skills and competencies and gaining real-world experience during their studies. As a result of this approach, college graduates have a number of advantages in the labor market, as they leave college as highly qualified specialists ready to directly apply their skills in the workplace.
