Air Canada plane makes emergency landing in Vancouver

All passengers are fine, but the press service had a rough day.

A flight from Edmonton made an emergency landing at Vancouver International Airport on Tuesday morning, Nov. 21.

Flight AC235 Edmonton-Vancouver was scheduled to arrive at 08:01, but shortly before that the pilot requested an emergency landing from the destination airport. As a result, the plane landed at 07:56, no passengers or crew were injured.

"The aircraft landed safely, YVR Fire and Rescue responded immediately and the aircraft taxied to an available gate where all passengers deplaned," the official statement said.

Air Canada representatives commented on the emergency landing request with the signal of the pressure drop sensor. The oxygen masks in the cabin did not work. The press service emphasized that everyone on board was perfectly fine. The airplane will be taken out of service and a full technical inspection is planned.

This is the second time in one day when the press service of the Canadian airline giant has to make statements on not the most pleasant occasions. Before that, the company's representatives had already commented on the lawsuit filed by american Brink's International, which sued Air Canada:

"Brink's Switzerland Ltd. elected for its own reasons not to declare a value for carriage and to pay the standard rate for the AC Secure services product and, to Air Canada's knowledge, elected not to insure these shipments."

This is in reference to a incident earlier this year involving the theft of more than $20 million CAD worth of cargo. Air Canada was handling the shipment, which is why the American customer held it responsible for the incident. This is one of the largest robberies in the country's history, and the issue of the carrier's guilt will be decided in court.
