The Canadian team and all its fans had to wait only 2 years for a new triumph. The last time Canada won the gold medal was in 2021, last year the Finns were the strongest, defeating Canada in the final match.
In the quarterfinals, the Canadians took revenge on the Finns for last year's final, beating them this time in the playoffs 4-1. In the semifinals, the Canadians defeated the Latvians, who became bronze medalists for the first time in history.

The Ice Hockey World Championship was held in Latvia and Finland. Next year Czech Republic will be the host country, Sweden and Denmark in 2025 and Switzerland in 2026. Last time Canada hosted the world's tournament was in 2008 and Russian hockey players turned out to be the best.
