New payments from the government: $1,300 CAD. Who will get them?
Yukon residents are entitled to new payments to cover treatment in 2023.
For all Yukon residents, there is an annual payment of $1,300 CAD for dental care, dental infections, dental caries treatment and preventive procedures. Approximately 8,000 people will participate in the program.
But only those who have no other such benefits or cash coverages under another plan will receive benefits.
The local government understands the importance of dental care as an essential part of health care and believes that everyone should have access to the dental care they need. Kate White stated that the program offers the broadest level of coverage in the country and is "a great step.
Conditions to be eligible for the program:
- The annual income does not exceed $60,000 CAD for single people;
- The annual income of no more than $90,000 CAD for families with two children.
Experts say the program in the Yukon covers almost every aspect and is the most comprehensive in the country.
