Kindergarten fees will become much lower in Canada

The government pays special attention to the development of children and reduces the monthly payment for kindergarten. Let's calculate the savings.

Starting December 1, 2022, parents can save an average of up to $550 CAD per month for each child who attends a licensed kindergarten. The annual savings will be up to $6,600 CAD. Also, starting in 2018, the province of British Columbia has a ChildCare BC plan that offers a $350 CAD discount to families raising children under age 5.

This gives the family a monthly discount of $900 CAD on preschool attendance. The average cost of a child's preschool stay will be reduced to $21 CAD. Previously 1 day cost about $50 CAD. Savings are more than 50%.

The federal government of Canada and the government of British Columbia have agreed on early learning and child care for the period from 2021 to 2026. The province is committed to achieving a cost of $10 CAD per day for child care for children aged 0 to 5 years. The Canadian government is interested in making life more affordable for families while creating good jobs and growing the economy.

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau said, "Yesterday, we cut childcare fees by half on average across British Columbia. We plan to make life more affordable. We know parents are struggling with the rising cost of living, so we're committed to helping them."

It's also worth noting that Quebec and Yukon regions have already reduced payments to $10 CAD per day for early learning and child care.
