The organizer of the Freedom Convoy was released on bail

The judge reconsidered the decision.

Freedom Convoy organizer Tamara Leach was released on $37,000 CAD bail. The woman was charged with causing harm, obstructing police action, calling for harm, intimidation and failure to comply with bail conditions for her role in mass winter protests in Ottawa that turned into an "occupation," against COVID-19 restrictions and the Liberal government.

Tamara Leach was facing up to 10 years in prison. She was also forbidden to communicate with a number of people associated with the Convoy. On Tuesday morning, however, Judge Andrew Goodman reversed the decision to detain the protest organizer altogether.

Now her case will be considered without taking into account the previous cases, in nova, that is, from the beginning. In addition, the judge stated that the charges of "occupation" have no basis whatsoever.

Goodman stated that he considered Leach's long-term incarceration unlikely. A date for the next court hearing has not yet been set.
