Toronto doctor admits to vaccinating six-month-olds against COVID-19

He believes he did the right thing, even though he violated the recommendations of the Ministry of Health.

Dr. Christopher Sun has been very responsible about vaccination before. He has been in the news before in the summer of 2021 when he gave a coronavirus vaccine shot to a mother with an infant through an open car window in the pouring rain.

In the spring of 2022, the doctor vaccinated more than 500 six-month-olds at the request of their parents. He continued to vaccinate children even when management demanded that he stop doing so. There are other Toronto doctors who have given shots to young children — but to four-year-olds, not infants. It is not yet known whether doctors will be punished in any way for violating instructions.

Health Canada believes that the vaccines that are available in health care facilities may be dangerous for children under five years of age. They will begin producing a separate vaccine for them this summer.
