R-Hauz Solutions has already built one apartment building in Toronto that consists of wooden modules. In 2022, it and its partners plan to start building three more six-storey buildings, but the project has not yet been approved.

If workers receive finished modules from the factory and assemble them, the houses will be delivered much faster. The modules are made of laminated laminated wood panels. This material is made in Ontario and is used in the construction of both urban and suburban houses.

An expert from the University of Toronto argues that the claimed combination of material and technology will make apartments in such houses much cheaper. Given housing prices in Toronto and other big cities, the new construction technology could crash the real estate market. And if these houses become so popular that other firms start building with this technology, there will also be new jobs that don't require high skills, because it's pretty easy to teach people how to assemble houses from modules.
