The outcome of the protests in Ottawa

The Freedom Convoy is disbanded. What next?

Businesses and shopping malls in Ottawa are reopening. The federal government has promised $20 million CAD to cover their losses. Small businesses will now be able to apply for and receive up to $10,000 CAD. But for now, downtown is being cleaned up by utilities and the streets near Parliament Hill are closed.

As planned, financial institutions froze 76 accounts worth $3.2 million CAD. The Canadian government is going to require crowdfunding and payment system websites to register with the Financial Transaction Analysis and Reporting Centre of Canada (FINTRAC).

Information about the victims is being investigated, including a woman who may have been injured by a police horse. In addition to the protesters, some journalists were injured, and not only in Ottawa, which was recorded on video: in British Columbia, people tried to take away a journalist's equipment, spat on him and shouted insults.
