Other winners also won valuable prizes.

More than 1.7 million people in the province have already entered the summer raffle, with the first lucky winner, Tracy McIvor of Langdon, winning $1 million CAD on July 1, Canada Day. Hundreds of other participants also received family tickets to the exciting Calgary Stampede rodeo show.

A teacher and school principal, McIvor had planned to retire a year ago, but because of the pandemic he decided to extend his employment. The man found out about his incredible luck a few days before the official announcement of the winner and at the request of the lottery organizers did not disclose it.

"The hardest part was just going on with my normal life and not showing it. I absolutely could not believe it, it still seems unreal to me," the winner shared his emotions.

To date, 72.8% of Alberta residents over the age of 18 have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 42.4% have been fully vaccinated with two doses.
