Alberta is once again running a generous raffle among the vaccinated

This time you can win free trips to sporting events.

More than 1.6 million Alberta residents have already entered the Open Summer Lottery. Three winners will each receive $1 million CAD, and others will compete for travel prizes from Air Canada and WestJet.

A new raffle will reward vaccinated Alberta residents with prizes from sports teams: the Edmonton Oilers, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Elks and Calgary Stampeders. Participants will have a chance to win season tickets to games, including VIP area tickets, restaurant trips and other prizes. Entries are open until July 22, and winners will be announced on July 29.

To date, more than 71.7% of Albertans over the age of 18 have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and 38.6% have had a second vaccination.

"We've all missed the thrill of watching our favourite teams play to the roar of a cheering crowd. Thanks to the rapid vaccination, we can finally get back to many of our favourite activities," commented Alberta Premier Jason Kenney. — These prizes will help bring fans back to their seats and provide another incentive to get vaccinated as soon as possible."

You can sign up for the vaccination and take part in the lottery at provincial website.
