Immigration to Nova Scotia through the Labor Market Priorities Stream for Physicians
The Labour Market Priorities for Physicians stream allows doctors to obtain permanent residency in Nova Scotia.
The Labour Market Priorities for Physicians stream of Nova Scotia's provincial program allows physicians with an Express Entry profile to immigrate to the province.
Requirements
To be eligible for immigration through the Labour Market Priorities for Physicians stream, you must meet the following requirements:
- have an active Express Entry profile and meet the criteria for one of the federal immigration programs;
- have an approved job offer from Nova Scotia Health Authority (NSHA) or IWK Health Centre as a general practitioner and family physician (NOC 31102) or specialist physician (NOC 31100 or NOC 31101);
- provide a copy of a signed Return of Service Agreement with the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, confirming your commitment to live and work in the province for at least two years;
- receive a letter of interest from Nova Scotia's provincial program representatives through the Express Entry system;
- apply for immigration through this stream within 30 days of receiving the letter of interest;
- demonstrate sufficient funds to successfully settle yourself and your family in Nova Scotia, as well as cover immigration and transportation costs;
- have legal status in your current country of residence.
How to Apply
Candidates who meet the above requirements can create an account on the official Nova Scotia website. Please note that only candidates contacted by provincial representatives through Express Entry can apply. You cannot independently express your desire to immigrate through the physician stream.
