11 Canadian universities are in the global top 2021
Three of them made it into the top 100.
It's no secret that Canadian education is recognized around the world. This year, 11 Canadian universities were included in the global ranking by U.S. News Global University ranking. The ranking was based on various indicators, such as reputation, scientific publications, etc., and included 1,500 leading educational institutions from 86 countries.
Three of Canada's higher education institutions made it into the top 100:
- University of Toronto — 17th place;
- University of British Columbia — 31st place;
- McGill University — 51st place.
There are other Canadian universities in the rankings:
- McMaster University — 133rd place;
- University of Alberta — 138th place;
- University of Montreal — 140th place;
- University of Calgary — 174th place;
- Ottawa University — 192nd place;
- University of Waterloo — 210th place;
- University of Western Ontario — 287th place;
- Victoria University — 301 places.
The top three were universities in the USA:
- Harvard University;
- Massachusetts Institute of Technology;
- Stanford University.
