Immigration to Nova Scotia through the Labour Market Priorities stream

The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities stream makes it possible for in-demand professionals to obtain permanent residency.

The Labour Market Priorities stream of Nova Scotia's provincial program allows candidates who are in demand in the local labour market to immigrate to the province. A special feature of the program is that applicants do not have the opportunity to self-declare their interest in immigrating through this stream. Nova Scotia selects applicants and sends them a letter of interest.

Eligibility

To be able to immigrate through the Labour Market Priorities stream, you must meet the following requirements:

  • have an active Express Entry profile and meet the criteria of one of the federal immigration programs;
  • receive a letter of interest from Nova Scotia in the Express Entry system;
  • submit the application within 30 days after you receive the letter of interest.

Program features

Nova Scotia selects candidates who best meet current labour market needs from the Express Entry pool. In each selection, the province puts forward different criteria for language ability, education, work experience, job offer, etc.

How to apply

Please note that only applicants who have received a letter of interest from Nova Scotia can apply for Labour Market Priorities stream. Once received, you must create an account on the province's official website.
