Immigration to Saskatchewan for farm operators
People who wish to do farm business in the province can immigrate through the Farm Owner and Operator stream.
The Farm Owner and Operator stream of Saskatchewan’s provincial program is designed for entrepreneurs who want to start a farm in the province.
Eligibility
To immigrate to Saskatchewan through the Farm Owner and Operator stream, you must meet the following requirements:
- have experience in managing a farming business;
- hold a net worth of $500,000 CAD;
- be able to invest $150,000 CAD or more in the business;
- present a plan to create a farm business with annual revenue of $10,000 CAD or more;
- sign a Performance Agreement and make a refundable cash deposit of $75,000 CAD, which will be returned when the terms of the agreement are fulfilled;
- make an exploratory visit to Saskatchewan for at least 10 working days.
Young Farmer stream
The Farm Owner and Operator stream includes the Young Farmer subcategory with reduced requirements:
- be under the age of 40;
- hold a net worth of $300,000 CAD;
- have 3 years of experience owning, operating a farm or farming;
- present a plan to create a farm business with annual revenue of $10,000 CAD or more.
