Immigration to the Northwest Territories for skilled workers

Experienced professionals can immigrate through the Skilled Worker stream.

The Skilled Worker stream of the Northwest Territories program allows highly qualified specialists who have found work in the territory to immigrate.

Eligibility requirements

To apply for the Skilled Worker stream, you must meet the following requirements:

  • receive a job offer in the Northwest Territories for a profession in TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 according to the NOC classification (management, highly skilled, and skilled trades professions);
  • have 1 year of work experience in the last 10 years;
  • demonstrate proficiency in English or French:
    • for TEER 0 and 1 professions — at level 6 on the CLB scale (slightly above average);
    • for TEER 2 and 3 professions — at level 5 on the CLB scale (average level);
  • have enough money to settle in the Northwest Territories.
