Two people were killed in a shooting in Alberta

The police are investigating.

A 41-year-old man and his 11-year-old son were killed Nov. 9 at a gas station next door to a shopping mall in Edmonton, Alberta. Both victims died at the scene, emergency responders were told by late afternoon. Police believe the killing was targeted.

So far, no details are known about the details of the incident, and no eyewitnesses to the incident have also been found. In a press release from the Edmonton Police Investigations Unit, officers are encouraging citizens to share any useful information:

"The loss or injury of children as a result of gunfire is unfathomable and we urge anyone with information that may assist this investigation to come forward as soon as possible."

A burned out vehicle was found not far from the scene. Police believe it may be related to the shooting, but there is no direct evidence of this at this time.

Another shooting incident in Alberta

On Nov. 10, police in Calgary, Alberta, also responded to reports of a shooting and a car accident. Details of this incident are even less, but law enforcement officials confirmed that several people were injured. The nature of their injuries is unknown.

At the same time, police emphasized that no one injured in the shooting and crash in Calgary is in a life-threatening condition. Also, no one has been arrested.
