No more vapes in Quebec
The provincial health minister is demanding a ban on vapes and vape liquids.
The Canadian province of Quebec may fulfill the dream of parents and teachers of young people — the local health minister proposes to ban vapes and vape liquids.
The official's name is Christian Dubé. He argues that all smoking mixtures and liquids with an additive other than traditional tobacco should be banned and that e-cigarettes and vaping devices should be regulated more strictly.
The problem is that they are often just as dangerous to your health as regular cigarettes, but they are falsely advertised as harmless. The ingredients in vape liquids have not been fully researched, and inhaling them can be even worse than consuming regular nicotine.
Separate concerns for physicians causes the fact that the steam of such devices is heated. Under the influence of heat, some synthetic substances become toxic and penetrate deeper into the tissues of the human body.
In addition, e-cigarettes and vapes in different flavors are very popular among teenagers. According to a Canadian survey, high school students have been twice as likely to smoke in the past two years.
The provincial authorities will consider the proposal of the Ministry of Health in the next 90 days. They will probably support it — the province already has strict laws on cigarettes, which are designed to keep young people from smoking.
