Canadian brewery brews beer with ChatGPT

Initially, the creators of the brewery used ChatGPT for marketing purposes, but then decided to ask artificial intelligence to give them a recipe for a new beer.

AI or artificial intelligence is everywhere these days! It is used in banking, navigation and travel, and social media.

And now Vancouver Island's Whistle Buoy Brewing is making beer using a recipe generated by artificial intelligence.

At first, brewery employees experimented with ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot, hoping it would help them create social media posts and product descriptions, but then they decided to try something completely unexpected.

"We'd put different things into it, and suddenly we thought, let's see what happens if we ask him to give us a beer recipe," says one of the brewery's founders. — So we asked him to create some kind of fluffy, tropical hazy pale ale.

ChatGPT came up with a recipe that mostly worked, and last Friday the brewery released a new beer called Robo Beer.

The recipe was not perfect. ChatGPT gave the proportions of ingredients for home brewing. But when the artificial intelligence calculations were adapted for large production, they didn't make sense. So some adjustments had to be made.

"It took some human intervention," the brewery employees summarize.
