How the abolition of covid restrictions affected travelers
Toronto Pearson Airport executives have explained how they will handle the flow of passengers.
The Government of Canada has announced that as of June 20, 2022, vaccination requirements for domestic and international travel will be eliminated. For travelers, this means that from now on, they will no longer need to show a vaccination certificate to board a plane or train in Canada.
Although the requirements to wear masks remain the same-they must be worn during the entire journey, excluding meal periods-the relaxation was greeted with enthusiasm.
One of the first to respond was the management of Toronto's Pearson International Airport, which is opening its terminals entirely for the first time in 2 years.
Airport spokeswoman Tori Gass, in a statement, mentioned the long delays and long lines that literally gripped Toronto Pearson in May and called the impending changes a step in the right direction.
In addition, she said that because the sector's employers are allowed to opt out of the mandatory vaccination policy, those employees who had to take unpaid leave because of certification requirements will be able to return to work.
