Where is the cheapest place to rent in Canada?

Rentals.ca calculated that in April 2022, the average rent was $1,821 CAD per month. This is a 9% increase from April 2021, when it was $1,676 CAD per month.
Single-family homes are the most expensive to rent, averaging $2,776 CAD per month. The average rent for a townhouse is $2,265 CAD per month. Apartments in condos rent for an average of $2,235 CAD per month, apartments in condos for rent are much cheaper at an average of $1,651 CAD per month. Basement apartments are even cheaper at only $1,590 CAD per month.
The most expensive housing is in British Columbia and Ontario. Although there are cities in Ontario where you can rent a place much cheaper than in Toronto. For example, London is still one of the most affordable cities to rent in. The average rent in London in April 2022 was $1,581 CAD.
