The first week of the new year began positively in Canada.
Immigration News
In the first week of January, Canada held two immigration drawings. 392 invitations were received by provincial program participants in Express Entry. Another 102 people were selected in British Columbia's Technical Program.

Life in Canada
Canada conducted a study to find out which regions lead in retention of new immigrants. Ontario, British Columbia, and Alberta were at the top, with about 90% of newcomers staying for at least 5 years. In some regions, the numbers are almost half as high.
The province of Ontario took first place quite deservedly and proved it once again. For the second time in six months, the region increased its minimum wage. It is now one of the highest in all of Canada.
