Canada's tallest suspension bridge is almost ready to open
The exact date is already known.
A new attraction in British Columbia will begin receiving its first visitors very soon. The Golden Skybridge suspension bridge will open in the city of Golden. To be more exact — two of them at once. The attraction consists of two bridges, one 130 meters high and 150 meters long and one 80 meters high and 140 meters long. The bridges will be the tallest in Canada.
The bridges are situated over a deep canyon with a river and a 60-metre waterfall. They offer views of mountain ranges and the Rocky Mountains.
"The bridges are built in a unique location from which to enjoy stunning scenery," said David Barry, president of Pursuit, the company that designed the project. — It doesn't matter if you're staying in Golden or just passing through on your way between British Columbia and Alberta. Golden Skybridge is about to become an iconic destination for Canadians and international tourists alike."
In summer the bridges are planned to be supplemented with bungee jumping and ziplining — rope rappelling. In addition, there are viewing platforms, hiking trails through the mountainous terrain and a recreation centre in the vicinity of Golden Skybridge.
Golden Skybridge is scheduled to open on May 1, 2021.
