Amazon in Quebec creates more than a thousand new jobs

The new facilities the company is opening promise to provide strong potential for Canadians who have lost their jobs and are looking for career opportunities.

Amazon, which has positioned itself as a competitive employer, is opening five new facilities in Quebec that will employ more than 1,000 Canadians.

The American leader in e-commerce said two new sorting centres and three delivery stations in the province will be a real outlet for Canadians who have lost their jobs.

The Quebec sorting centre alone, which will open as early as 2021 in Cote du Lac (about 60 kilometres from Montreal), will provide new jobs for at least 500 people. The remaining facilities will be located in Longueuil, Laval and the Montreal suburb of Lachine.

The expansion of such giants will be positive news not only for Canadians, but also for immigrants who are in search of jobs. However, the requirements at companies like Amazon are quite high and to get a job there, you need to demonstrate your greatest strengths. In order not to have problems with that, you need to take training course on how to find a job in Canada.

"Our new manufacturing facilities will help us meet our customers' growing demand for great products and faster delivery times, while offering our employees access to incredible career opportunities through on-the-job training and professional development so they can fulfill their career aspirations," said Jean-François Heroux, Amazon Canada's head of operations.

Specifically, employees working for Amazon will be provided with a salary starting at $16 CAD per hour depending on the position, medical, eye and dental insurance. Employees are offered an RRSP retirement plan, as well as bonuses and bonuses starting from day one.
