Ottawa will have road closures
This is done so that people can walk and exercise.
This coming weekend — April 10 and 11 — three streets in Canada's capital city will be closed to vehicles so people can relax and exercise. Of course, the streets will only be partially closed, and people will have to strictly follow the COVID-19 regulations.
A section of the Queen Elizabeth Driveway will be open to pedestrians from 9am to 5pm. Parts of Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway and Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway will be available for walking and jogging from 8am to 4pm. The National Capital Commission (NCC) plans to open other streets to pedestrians, which will be announced during April.
Interestingly, last April Queen Elizabeth Street was already closed to traffic. At that time it pleasantly surprised the residents of Ottawa, although safety measures had to be observed as well.
