Immigration to Alberta for Tourism Workers

Candidates working in the province in specific occupations can obtain permanent residency through the Tourism and Hospitality stream.

The Tourism and Hospitality stream of Alberta's provincial program is designed for workers in the tourism and hospitality sector who have been employed by a local employer for at least six months.

Requirements

To apply for permanent residency through the Tourism and Hospitality stream, candidates must meet several requirements:

  • Have a job offer in Alberta in one of the eligible occupations (see below), along with a work permit based on a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA);
  • Have worked for at least 6 months for the same employer offering the job;
  • Have completed high school education;
  • Possess English or French language skills at level 4 or higher on the Canadian CLB scale (basic level).

The employer providing the job offer must be a member of one of the industry associations listed on the official Alberta website, or be listed as a service provider on the Travel Alberta website.
