British Columbia will host a wine festival

Tastings in the lap of nature.

From Oct. 27 to Nov. 5, the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia will host another wine festival. It is held twice a year and celebrates the end of the harvest — this time the fall harvest.

The festival program features more than 60 wine and food events, and they all take place in the picturesque setting of the Okanagan Valley among lakes and mountains.

The wine festival opens with a cultural party with live music and gourmet hors d'oeuvres. This year's meal will be complemented by an auction with wine presentations and tickets to the following events as auction items. The proceeds go to the Okanagan Wine Festival Society. The evening will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre and admission is $95 CAD.

The calendar of events also includes wine talks and tastings, where you can discover previously unfamiliar varieties of beverage and make pleasant acquaintances. The talks will be moderated by qualified and internationally recognized experts, and the wines will be accompanied by local cheeses, meats and chocolate desserts.

All the wines presented at the festival will be available for purchase with good discounts. And, of course, there will be guided tours of wineries, vineyards and nearby estates.
