Employment in Canada is on the rise

Sociologists in Canada study the labor market and report on the unemployment rate.

Statistics Canada has prepared a report in which it examined the situation with labor employment of the population — and came to optimistic conclusions. First of all, it turned out that the level of this very employment in September increased by 0.3% compared to August. In objective terms, this means 64,000 new working hands.

Thanks for this should go to two particularly distinguished provinces: British Columbia and Quebec. Alberta and New Brunswick, on the other hand, went into negative territory this fall, but not so much so that the surge in employment in their neighbors could not offset it.

For the third month, average hourly wage has also been rising steadily by about 5% — and consistently above inflation, while the number of hours worked was unchanged last month.

The strongest growth in employment was in the age group from 25 to 54 years old. And if we talk about fields of activity, education showed the most impressive growth for logical reasons at the beginning of the fall. It is more appropriate to compare the number of employees in this sector not with August, but with May — and the growth is still evident: 26,000 more employees.

Employment in transportation and warehousing also increased. Here everything is consistently good: 18,000 more employees for the month and 80,000 more — for the whole year. but in finance, insurance and real estate the number of employees decreased. September was not the best time for construction and culture either.
