A series of job fairs in Canada this fall

Quebec is first in line, and then other provinces will be looking for labor specialists.

Canada's Employment and Social Development Department insists the country needs more skilled trades workers. Randy Boissonnault, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, announced an upcoming recruiting event in the province of Quebec.

It will be held in two phases:

  • On October 4 and 5, the Palais des Congrès in Montreal will host an interactive exhibition of job openings and continuing education courses;
  • On October 12 and 13, the National Job Fair will be held at the Olympic Stadium in Montreal.

The fairs aim to raise awareness among the public and attract new recruits to the working trades.

Visitors will be able to:

  • find out what jobs are in demand in Canada;
  • find a job in an in-demand occupation in their province or territory;
  • discover the steps it takes to become a skilled trades worker.

The fairs will be held as part of the Red Seal Program, a program that sets common standards for job occupations across Canada and in each province/territory individually. Montreal has several businesses working under the Red Seal Program in different sectors. They will be represented at the fair and will offer the following job openings for the period 2022-2024:
