An unidentified object was shot down in the skies over Canada this weekend

This is the fourth aircraft to be shot down over U.S. and Canadian territory since the beginning of February.

The object shot down over the Yukon Territory on the evening of February 11 posed "a reasonable threat" to Canadians, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau assures. But, he said, there’s “still much to know about”. If the truth is out there, as the X-Files slogan says, it's not at all apparent.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference on Sunday, the prime minister said the unidentified object illegally entered Canadian airspace and was shot down by an American F-22 fighter.

"The safety of Canadians is our most important concern," Trudeau said. — That's why I made the decision to shoot down an object that posed a threat to civil aviation and a potential danger to Canadians."

This is the fourth object shot down in U.S. and Canadian skies since early February.

On the same day, Saturday, February 11, the U.S. Air Force shot down an unidentified aircraft over Lake Guron on the Canadian border.
