A visitor record application is submitted if a person came to the country on a visitor visa and plans to stay longer than 6 months.
Using a new automated tool speeds up the work of immigration specialists. The technology saves them from routine processes and quickly selects standard applications that are eligible. The tool uses rules developed by IRCC and also has the ability to learn from previous applications.
All final decisions to approve or deny a stay are made only by IRCC officers. Also, the operation of the automated tool is regularly checked by the specialists.
