International students choose Canada
They are attracted by the security and stability of the country.
The Canadian Bureau of International Education (CBIE) recently released the results of its annual survey of more than 41,000 international students from 67 educational institutions in Canada. Respondents answered why they chose this particular country to study in.
Students ranked the security and stability of the country first. Almost 80 percent of respondents noticed this. Slightly fewer respondents (70 percent) went to the reputation of educational institutions in Canada. About 40 percent said they opted for Canada because they planned to stay and obtain permanent residency. Many students said that the easiest part of coming to Canada was getting into an educational institution. 39 percent of those surveyed had difficulty obtaining a student visa.
An overwhelming number (about 70 percent) of international students plan to stay in Canada after their studies and obtain a Post-Graduation Work Permit. This program can be a good help in obtaining permanent residency because it will provide work experience in the country.
